Backing Recquirements

What size should my backing be?

Here's an easy way to remember: Four-for-four! We require the backing to be 4" extra ON ALL SIDES. For example, if you have a quilt top that is 60" x 80", your backing should measure at least 68" x 88". It can be bigger, not smaller. Extra fees may apply if we need to put extra time and effort into getting your quilt ready to load. If you have questions, please ask :-)

We’re passionate about being able to give you results you will love! Teamwork!

Note about using bedsheets as backing: Those with excessively high thread counts (ie. 600-800) can cause bobbin tension nightmares and inconsistent stitching results. Therefore, I do not recommend using these Backing Divas.

Tidy it up!

Tidy it up!

Please press your top and backing for us so that it's nice and tidy and ready for us to load. Please also clip stray threads or raveling fabrics as best as you can. You might not be able to get them all, but to prevent dark threads shadowing through your quilt top, don't skip this important step!

Quilting choice

We want this to be fun for you and not overwhelming! You can have us make many of the quilting decisions for you. It all depends on your purpose for the quilt—and sometimes "done" is best! Click the Designs button at the top to get your design inspiration started.

Note: The form below is very detailed because a great deal of decision-making goes into finishing a quilt top, transforming it into your own unique quilty masterpiece! Please try not to feel overwhelmed. We want this to be easy for you, so fill out the sections you can, and don’t stress about anything you aren’t sure of. Many of these decisions can be made once we receive your quilt top. Rest assured we’ll help you every step of the way!
